Dr. Martin Downey

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Owner of Companion Care Animal Hospital

Dr. Downey established Companion Care Animal Hospital back in November of 2005 as a one-doctor practice. Throughout the years, it’s grown into a three-doctor practice. Dr. Downey grew up in Guelph, Ontario and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1993. His special interests include all types of surgeries, but especially orthopedic surgery.

He loves to educate clients on the well-being of their pets. Dr. Downey enjoys making every visit a learning experience for the owner as well as the pet, and loves teaching old dogs new tricks. Dr. Downey is married with one child, Brayden. The family lives with their two dogs, Lola and Louis. Dr. Downey enjoys going fishing with his son and visiting his family in Canada.

Dr. Noreen Pazderski

Dr. Elyse Shine

Dr. Elyse Shine is a native of Toronto, Canada. She is a 2014 graduate of the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary studies in Edinburgh, Scotland. Prior to vet school she obtained a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree at the University of Guelph. Prior to joining Companion Care Animal Hospital she worked in an emergency clinic, however her passion lies in the small animal office environment. Her professional interests lie in anesthesia and pain management. Dr. Shine shares her home with a retired greyhound named Cullen. In her spare time she enjoys reading, knitting and traveling the world.
