Companion Care Animal Hospital Policies

Thank you for taking the time to review our hospital policies.

These guidelines are in place to ensure a safe, smooth, and positive experience for all customers, pets, and staff.

Veterinarian / Client Relationship

Our staff is committed to serving your pet’s medical needs and treating you with dignity and respect. In return, we ask that you treat our staff with the same dignity and respect. The well-being of our clients and staff members is our utmost concern. Understand that if you are verbally or physically abusive to a staff member or another customer, you will be discharged. If you are discharged, you can no longer schedule appointments or consider us your pet’s doctor. You will have to find another veterinarian at a different practice.

Attendance

Regular attendance at doctor’s appointments is essential to the success of your pet’s care. Accordingly, our veterinary practice has adopted the following policies:

Please Call to Cancel: If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule. Our office participates in reminder calls as a courtesy to our customers. However, it is your responsibility to keep track of your appointments. Please listen to the entire message and Confirm or Cancel your appointment accordingly. If cancellation is not within the stated time frame, an appointment exam fee of $39.00 will be charged.

Follow Up Appointments: Please schedule any follow up appointments with our office before you leave so that you are able to get an appointment for the day and time that is most convenient for you. It is your responsibility to make the appropriate follow up appointment for your pet’s treatment plan.

Same-Day or Emergency Appointment: Same-day urgent or non-urgent treatments have a fee of $97.00.

Late Visits: If you are late to a scheduled appointment by more than 15 minutes, you will likely be asked to reschedule. However, we will make an effort to see you if the schedule permits.

No-Shows: A “No-Show” is when you miss an appointment without calling to cancel or reschedule. If you No-Show to an appointment, you will be rescheduled to the next available appointment. The office procedures regarding No-Shows are as follows:

  • First Time: You will be charged $76.00 for that exam appointment.
  • Second Time: You will be charged for that exam appointment and be requested to prepay for all future exam appointments.
  • Third Time: You will receive a letter stating that you have been discharged from the practice.

As an exception, New Clients who No-Show will have to pay for the missed exam appointment and also prepay all future exam appointments.

Additional Policies

Compliance: Following your pet’s prescribed treatment plan is important for your pet’s health and well-being. If you do not follow the medical staff’s instructions about important health issues, our office will not be able to effectively provide for your pet’s medical needs. The office procedure regarding noncompliance is that customers who do not follow the prescribed treatment plan will be discharged from the practice.

Contacting Us: Please allow at least 24 to 48 hours to return your call. However, we will make every effort to return your call as soon as possible.

Paperwork: We will be glad to complete any forms but cannot interrupt our office hours to do so. Please allow 5-7 days to complete your paperwork.

Prescriptions: All handwritten prescriptions will have a $5.00 processing fee.

Payment: We accept cash, checks with a valid photo ID, and credit cards, including Mastercard, Discover, and Visa. We also accept CareCredit. Payments are due in full at the time of your pet’s appointment.
