Support Through Your Pet’s Final Days
Saying goodbye to an animal companion is one of the hardest parts of being a pet owner. We understand that this is a deeply personal and painful time, and we want you to know that you’re not alone. You’re welcome to ask as many (or as few) questions as you need about your pet’s end of life. Our team is always here to support you with our experience and never to judge the decisions that you make for your pet.
Quality-of-Life Exams for Pets
These consultations are for pet owners who are unsure if it’s their pet’s time.
During this exam, we’ll evaluate your pet and discuss all available options. Here are four important things to consider when considering your pet’s quality of life.
Pain
Is your pet consistently showing signs of pain or distress, such as limping, whining, or struggling to get up? If pain is not well-controlled or is worsening despite treatment, it may be time to consider hospice care or euthanasia.
Appetite
Has your pet stopped eating or drinking regularly? A significant, sustained loss of appetite may indicate declining health and discomfort.
Mobility
Is your pet still able to move around, go outside, and remain clean? Pets who can no longer stand, walk, or stay clean may be losing quality of life and dignity.
Behavior
Does your pet still seem interested in their surroundings or social interactions? Withdrawal, confusion, or persistent behavior changes can signal emotional or cognitive decline.
Pet Euthanasia Services
If you’ve decided to move forward with euthanasia for your companion, we will make the process as peaceful and respectful as possible. The procedure is performed with compassion and always at your pace. You are welcome to stay with your pet for the entire visit, and we encourage you to bring a family member or close friend for support. Our team can walk you through the process in as much or as little detail as you would like to know.
Cremation Options
After euthanasia, we offer cremation services to honor your pet’s memory in a way that feels right for you and your family.
- Private Cremation: Your pet is cremated individually, and their ashes are returned to you.
- Communal Cremation: Your pet is cremated alongside other pets. Ashes are not returned but handled with respect.
We will walk you through your options and give you the time and space you need to decide what’s best.
